Planning and organising the UWEWK 2023 is carried out across the country, Through publicity campaigns, including use of both print and electronic media, social media platforms and promotional materials prior to the event;
Decentralized UWEWK 2023 activities are carried out in the 6 de-concentrated regional structures of MWE.

The Jerry Can Challenge where participants carry a jerry can full of water for a set distance to replicate the experience that people face in case there is water scarcity. This informs the communities on the need to protect our water sources. It also fosters empathy with those in areas of water scarcity.

These are considered a relevant approach to broaden the scope and impact of the UWEWK. These included radio or TV talk shows on Water and Environment issues, awareness campaigns and clean up exercises or restoration activities were organized by regional de-concentrated structures of the MWE in various locations to deal with key pressing issues in those regions.
